International banking alliance strengthens its member network and welcomes Santander Consumer Bank AG

IBOS Association (IBOS), an international banking network, is delighted to announce its newest member, Santander Consumer Bank AG, strengthening the existing Santander Group presence within the alliance.

Santander Consumer Bank AG bolsters IBOS’s strong geographic coverage in Europe, and specifically enhances the network’s presence in Germany. The Santander Group has a large and vibrant presence in the IBOS network, including coverage across the UK, US, Spain, Portugal, Poland, Brazil, Colombia, Peru, Uruguay, Chile and Mexico. Now with a Santander presence in Germany, the Bank further enhances IBOS’s existing scope in the country and across the network.

Arend Jan Mulder, Head of Customer Solutions at Santander Consumer Bank AG, Business and Corporate Banking, commented: “We are pleased to be joining the IBOS network and helping businesses prosper globally, as the Santander Group prides itself on growing internationally. This join will enrich our role as a strategic partner in our clients’ journeys, and we look forward to working with corporate clients of member banks to help them navigate the German economy and provide local knowledge.”

Carlos Hazas Oñate, Multinationals Director & IBOS Board Member, added: “Our focus in multinationals & international business cannot end within our Santander footprint, but must go beyond our geographical limits. IBOS is the perfect example of cross-collaboration outside of our network. We are very excited to improve Santander Consumer Bank AG’s connectivity, thanks to this new membership.”

As an international alliance consisting of some of the largest banks in the world, IBOS allows its members to provide local banking services across the globe and permits businesses to operate across several jurisdictions where they themselves are not present.

Therefore, IBOS helps customers operate efficiently, avoiding exchange rate risks and streamline cash management in multiple jurisdictions through its innovative online portal centred on opening accounts for its members’ new corporate customers. The IBOS online platform has changed how the market operates.

Manoj Mistry, Managing Director at IBOS, added: “We are delighted to expand our member offering and extend the Santander Group presence in Germany. With Santander Consumer Bank AG increasing our geographic reach in Germany, this enables us to provide further benefits and options for our existing members and their corporate clients, allowing businesses to prosper in additional regions across the country.”

Mario Domenico Recchia, Chairman of IBOS Board, also commented: “This is an exciting time for IBOS as the network is expanding, confirming the attractiveness of our value offering to member banks’ corporate clients across the globe. I look forward to working with the Santander Consumer Bank AG team and enhancing this fruitful collaboration across the wider Santander Group.”

Throughout 2024, IBOS is keen to continue expanding its international alliance across the globe. Through IBOS, members provide local banking services across the globe 24/7.
